Ceeda Training
There are increasing demands on staff to undertake and commission research programmes as part of the sufficiency agenda. This demanding role can be a challenging and stressful experience if staff have little or no formal research training.
Significant investment is involved in the assessment of sufficiency, both in terms of commissioning external research support and resources assigned to in-house projects. Equipping staff with the skills required to ensure good quality research outputs is key to achieving best value.
Ceeda offers a one day introductory level workshop which provides delegates with a basic introduction to the principles and practices of research linked to the sufficiency agenda. The workshop equips non-researchers with a basic awareness of the potential pitfalls to watch out for and important issues to consider when planning and commissioning research. The workshop is appropriate for staff with little or no formal research expertise.
By the end of the course, delegates have a basic understanding of:
- Different types of research
- Legal issues and codes of conduct
- Preparing a brief and commissioning research contractors
- The fundamental elements within research practice including:
- defining research objectives
- choosing the research method
- selecting respondents
- designing research tools
- ensuring research is inclusive
- using research results
Delegates receive a course handbook providing a valuable reference point and access to the course leader for post-training support.
