Childcare providers across the UK can now benefit from a new parent survey service thanks to the success of a pilot project.
The ceeda parent survey has been developed by RSUK, an independent research agency that has been working with the childcare sector for over 10 years. Successful trials in County Durham have led to the service being launched nationally. It is now available to day nurseries, pre-school playgroups and childminders across the UK.
Providers subscribing to the service receive professionally designed survey questionnaires, data analysis and a confidential survey report, meaning they can focus on the results rather than how the survey gets done.
Jo Verill, managing director at RSUK, said: "We are delighted with the success of the ceeda parent survey to date, which has been very well received by participating nurseries.
"The survey provides childcare settings with the opportunity to gather independent feedback from parents. The nurseries that have already taken part in ceeda are finding it invaluable for gathering impartial and honest information on their successes and areas for development."
Jayne Dinsdale, nursery manager at Wheatley Hill Community Nursery in Durham said: "The information gathered from ceeda has helped us to make a number of improvements at our centre, ranging from menus to activities with the children. By using an independent supplier, we found that parents taking part were more at ease with providing honest answers, leading to a higher response rate than on previous surveys.
"The benchmark is great for showing how well we are doing compared to our peers, we have shared the results with senior staff and partners. All of this information is so beneficial and excellent value for money."
